Security Guard

We are looking for a Security Guard to join our team and help ensure the safety of our premises and personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling the facility, monitoring security cameras, responding to alarms, and conducting regular security checks. The ideal candidate should have excellent observation skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Patrol all the marked check points to make sure whole premises is safe and secure.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid security guard license
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Background check required
• CPR/First Aid certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ottawa, ON K1N 7L8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Security Guard Licence (required)
