Who you are:

As a Senior Corporate Security Officer, you bring proven leadership and supervisory experience to the forefront, guiding a team of dedicated Program and Planning while overseeing complex and evolving security programs. Your deep-rooted expertise in the field enables you to set strategic direction, navigate multifaceted challenges, and uphold the highest standards of security for the CNSC.

You are a trusted authority, adept at fostering collaborative relationships across teams, departments and ensuring seamless coordination on inter-departmental committees. With a sharp analytical mindset and unwavering attention to detail, you drive continuous improvement in security practices while mentoring others to do the same.

What you’ll do:

As the Senior Corporate Security Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing a suite of complex and critical security programs for the CNSC, including security policies, Business Continuity Management, Security Event Management, Corporate Security Risk Management, and Insider Risk Management and other specialized programs designed to safeguard people, assets, information, and operations.

You will lead the development and implementation of security policies, manage contracts and contractor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery, supervise a small but skilled team of Security Officers and lead security initiatives and projects in upholding the CNSC’s commitment to a secure and resilient environment.


Essential Qualifications:


Education:

College Diploma in Security Management or related field. An equivalent combination of education, experience and job knowledge may also be considered

Language Requirements:

Bilingual imperative with a proficiency at CBC level. If you are unsure of your proficiency level, we encourage you to take a self-assessment here.

Experience:

  • Supervising and mentor security personnel, assign tasks, provide feedback, and support professional development.
  • Providing expert security advice and guidance to clients, leadership, and management.
  • Building and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support security objectives.
  • Conducting corporate risk assessments and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Developing or update departmental security policies, standards, and procedures in line with legislation, regulations, and organizational priorities.
  • Preparing briefing notes, presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior management or governance committee

Knowledge of:

  • Security program development and evaluation.
  • Government of Canada security policies, instruments, and guidelines related to departmental security.

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing, with the ability to adapt to all audiences
  • Work effectively with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Asset Qualification:

  • Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Certification in Business continuity management


Operational Needs:

All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive.

This position requires frequent travel.

Overtime: Overtime may be required.
