Part-Time Security Guard – Balzac, AB

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Security Guard to join our team at a busy distribution center. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Comprehensive on-site training will be provided to ensure your success. You will be responsible for maintaining security protocols, conducting thorough inspections, and helping safeguard our client’s assets.

Schedule 1: Saturdays 7am to 7pm (0700-1900hrs) AND Sundays 7am to 6pm (0700-1800hrs)

*Candidates must be work as hours posted per schedule, we are unable to split the schedule*

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Loss Prevention teams to prevent unauthorized entry to the distribution center and enforce entry/exit policies.
• Cross-train in various site positions to provide flexible coverage as needed.
• Monitor and control access by checking ID badges for all associates, contractors, visitors, and vendors entering or exiting the facility.
• Conduct thorough security checks of all individuals exiting the warehouse, including inspection of bags, purses, packages, and outerwear, especially during shift breaks and lunches.
• Prevent unauthorized removal of merchandise or supplies by ensuring proper authorization from a supervisor for items leaving the facility.
• Monitor CCTV systems to observe truck and contractor activity on site.
• Perform foot patrols to observe, detect, report, and deter suspicious behavior or safety concerns.
• Document and report any health or safety hazards, evidence of dishonesty, or other misconduct.
• Complete incident reports for non-compliance or other security-related issues, and promptly notify on-site management.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are consistently followed.

Pay Rate: $18.50/hr

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Security Guard License.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Availability to work mornings, afternoons, or overnights.
• Ability to work full-time hours (40 hours per week).
• Previous warehouse experience is an asset but not required.
• Previous security gatehouse experience is required.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Previous security experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
• Previous gatehouse experience.
