Job description – Experienced Security Supervisor

Are you ready for a new adventure? Looking to expand your supervisory skills and knowledge? Our Security Team is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to join our night shift team!

The successful candidate will provide security supervision and protection services to Calgary’s premier entertainment venue, overseeing our two four-star hotels, casino, concert hall, banquet center, entertainment showroom, and more, ensuring a safe environment for patrons and staff while protecting our assets and gaming activities.

**Key Responsibilities: **

  • Report directly to the Manager, Security & Surveillance and/or Senior Security Supervisor.
  • Enforce age and access provisions within the casino premises.
  • Provide direction, supervision, and support to assigned security teams
  • Assist in interviewing, training, and conducting performance reviews for new Casino Security Officers.
  • Conduct regular patrols to maintain safety and protect assets.
  • Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Qualifications: **

  • Must reside in the Calgary, Alberta area and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have an open work permit.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent experience as a Security Supervisor OR Peace Officer/Law Enforcement Experience (International Casino/Law Enforcement experience is welcomed). Those with recent Casino Security and/or Casino Security Supervisor experience will get priority.
  • Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Clear Calgary Police / RCMP Security Clearance – No Criminal Convictions or pending charges within the court system.
  • Preferred certifications in Defence Tactics Threat Pattern Recognition, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, and/or handcuffing training.
  • Physical fitness is essential, with the ability to stand, walk, run, and climb stairs during shifts. This includes being able to lift/carry up to 50lbs unassisted.
  • A valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C & AED certification or higher required
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office & other windows-based programs is required.
  • Strong communication skills required as candidates must be able to verbally communicate in English and complete written reports.
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity, with adherence to high standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with AGLC Regulations, Scheduling and Human Resources Management a bonus.

As our property is 24/7/365 operation, candidates must be available and willing to work a night shift rotation, which will include weekends, special events and holidays. Due to our shift times, candidates must have their own vehicle as public transit is not available for this area.
