Commissionaires Southern Alberta is seeking experienced Security Guards available for relief and shift coverage at critical infrastructure sites. This role is ideal for professionals who are reliable, adaptable, and able to step in seamlessly to maintain security operations during absences, vacancies, or increased operational demands.

This is a high-responsibility, high-visibility relief position supporting essential operations. You will provide consistent, professional security coverage across day and night shifts, ensuring continuity, safety, and compliance at all times.

What You’ll Do

• Provide relief coverage for scheduled and unscheduled security shifts
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and communication systems
• Respond promptly to service requests and security incidents
• Manage access control and provide escorts to sensitive areas
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of critical facilities
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
• Follow established procedures while adapting to changing operational needs

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Alberta Security License and First Aid/CPR certification
• Strong judgment, situational awareness, and attention to detail
• Professional communication skills and presence
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (assessment required)
• Comfortable using security technology and reporting systems
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when providing relief coverage
• Minimum 7 years in Canada residency

Physical & Operational Requirements

• Ability to walk and patrol for extended periods
• Climb stairs and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Sit for extended periods while monitoring systems
• Maintain focus across multiple communication channels
• Respond quickly to alarms, radios, and phone calls

Working Conditions

• Relief-based scheduling covering day and night shifts
• Shifts range from 12 hours (days) and 12 hours (nights)
• Combination of monitoring duties and patrols
