Position Summary
The ideal candidate is responsible for covering breaks and patrolling the curb perimeters to ensure integrity, inspect and secure gates, conduct frequent patrols of critical infrastructure areas, and report any suspicious activity to Operations Centre.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring the departures and arrivals level of the curbside.

Maintaining a presence on the curb in areas of high vehicle/passenger traffic.

Educating and directing members of the public to established pick up/drop off areas.

Ensuring vehicles and baggage are not left unattended at the curb.

Providing a diplomatic, customer-centric service to passengers by helping to resolve issues.

Provide assistance to persons with disabilities by engaging YYC Ambassadors
Patrolling the curbside areas for suspicious activity. This includes:

Maintaining Patrols of curbside (1 full patrol of arrivals and departures level, from Door 1 to 17, per hour)

Engaging unwanted guests/loiterers and following procedure to ensure their departure from the airport property.

Cooperating with terminal patrollers, airside supervisors and the Security Operations Centre to address potential security risks, maintenance or facility issues, or other suspicious activity (e.g.: vehicles that are not here travel or work purposes (e.g.: ‘stunt’ drivers, drivers filming the area, unattended vehicles, etc.)
Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements:

Must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must always hold and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (RAIC) for the duration of the Contract.

Must possess a Valid AB Security License.

Must hold an Emergency or Standard First Aid certificate.

Must hold a Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver’s License.

Personnel are expected to be physically able to perform the job assigned to them.

Maintain a high level of radio proficiency.
-
Required to be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, additional languages are considered an asset.
-
Formal education sufficient for effective communication, including reading, writing and comprehension and effective decision making as required by the position.

Clear and concise radio communication skills, as set out by the Restricted Operators Certificate – Aviation (ROC-A)
Shift Schedule:

1000-2200 / 12:00-00:00 (3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off)
Working Conditions:

Work 12-hour shifts.
-
May be exposed to prolonged periods of walking, sitting, or standing.
-
May be employed indoors or outdoors in periods of inclement weather.
