As a Team Lead, Protective Services, you will be responsible for the Operations Control Centres and Operational Security. You will oversee, lead and manage Section Leads and Security Operations Supervisors. Primary duties include:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a team of front-line Security Guards, Operational Sergeants, and Section Leads.
  • Facilitate employee support matters, including coaching, mentoring, investigations and performance management.
  • Provide change management direction and support.
  • Facilitate departmental strategy development and implementation including governance, risk management frameworks, performance metrics, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead strategic support for business unit objective setting, performance metrics and continuous improvement to achieve council priorities while optimizing resource allocations.
  • Support establishing and maintaining governance frameworks, in accordance with Business Unit needs, and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with all Business Units, as well as internal and external partners on Security and Public Safety matters and strategies.
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage external security contract service providers and resources and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • A completed 1 year certificate or diploma in a security-related field and at least 10 years of experience in the security industry.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • An Alberta Security Services License is required.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) will be considered an asset.
  • Success in this position requires strong leadership, coaching and communication skills, strong customer focus, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills, above average computer skills, superior communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven integrity, ethics and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Pre-employment Requirements
  • A security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Level M2 $130,400 – 163,000 per
annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
