Security Guard – House of Spells

House of Spells, a premier multi-fandom retail destination in Times Square, is hiring 3 Security Guards to join our team! We are looking for alert, reliable professionals with a strong customer-service mindset to ensure our store remains a safe and magical space for all our guests and employees.

What You Will Do Day-to-Day:

• Monitor the sales floor, entrances, exits, and surrounding areas to deter theft, shoplifting, and unauthorized activity.
• Keep a close watch on high-value merchandise and areas with a higher risk of theft.
• Assist with customer and employee safety concerns in a calm, highly professional manner.
• Manage crowd flow during busy tourist periods, themed special events, and promotions.
• Support daily opening and closing security procedures.
• Document security incidents accurately and provide detailed reports to management.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding CCTV footage, security incidents, employee information, and store operations.
• Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Shift Leads, and coordinate with NYPD or emergency services when required.
• Ensure all employees are following store security and safety procedures.

What We Need From You:

• Licensing: A valid New York Security Guard license is highly appreciated.
• Temperament: Excellent de-escalation skills. You must be able to resolve conflicts calmly and professionally without using unnecessary force or engaging in confrontational behavior.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with diverse crowds, store leadership, and law enforcement.
• Availability: Must be able to work the evening shift (5:00 PM to close) and be available on weekends.
