Security Guard

Pay: $22 per hour + nightly tip share

Good Night John Boy is one of San Diego’s busiest nightlife destinations, bringing a high-energy 70s disco experience to the Gaslamp Quarter. We’re looking for professional, friendly, and confident security team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to keep guests safe while creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Check IDs and verify guest age.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and crowd flow.
• Enforce venue policies professionally and respectfully.
• De-escalate conflicts before they become problems.
• Remove disruptive guests when necessary.
• Work closely with management, bartenders, and servers.
• Monitor capacity and maintain a safe environment.
• Help maintain a clean, organized venue throughout the shift.
• Maintain a polished, professional appearance throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of nightlife, bar, or nightclub security experience preferred.
• California Guard Card preferred (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Able to remain calm under pressure.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Must be available Friday and Saturday nights.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
