Retail Security Officer

Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and reliable Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and implementing loss prevention measures. Duties

• Monitor security cameras (CCTV) to observe activity across the site and identify any suspicious behaviour or security breaches.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access.
• Implement loss prevention strategies by recognising potential risks and intervening when necessary.
• Respond promptly to alarms or incidents, including providing first aid if required.
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks.
• Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and authorisation of visitors and staff.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or surveillance roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques.
• Basic first aid certification is preferred; willingness to undertake training if necessary.
• Strong observational skills with an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally.
• Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond swiftly when required.
