JOB TITLE: Security Officer

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing security services at assigned client locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
  • Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles or people into properties
  • Coordinate and assist clients with the removal of wrongdoers or trespassers from the premises
  • Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
  • Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
  • Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
  • Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
  • Provide assistance to people in need
  • Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
  • Submit daily reports of surveillance activity and incidents
  • Follow all company policies and procedures while on duty
  • Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outside elements including inclement weather for an 8-12 hours shift
  • Must be able to walk, run and climb stairs
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must have sufficient hearing to respond to normal verbal speech, alarm signals, radio and telephone communications
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read and understand tenant rosters, employee listings, post order, maps, computer screens, and check identification

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma with 1 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Must be able to communicate in English)
  • Effective public speaking skills
