Security Officer

Temporary Position from June 8 – July 31, 2026

Part-Time: 32 hours per week

Workdays: Monday-Thursday

Purpose of Position
A Security Officer provides the school with a safe and secure environment for the youth and staff during the Summer Youth Program MOST (Maximizing Out of School Time).

Job Responsibilities

• • Must be visibly on-site and accessible during site operation at all times.

  • Must monitor all areas associated with site continuously to ensure the safety of all students in program.

  • Appropriately enforce safety and security regulations at the school site.

  • Must demonstrate professionalism in the classroom and at the worksite with students, staff, and the public.

  • Apply basic investigative skills appropriate for each infraction by exercising verbal and physical intervention skills that meet professional standards as well as enhance the safety and security of the campus.

  • Provide accurate and timely written reports to supervisor.

  • Assures campus safety by escorting unauthorized people away from the school grounds.
  • Assists direct service staff by unlocking and locking accessible rooms.

  • Identify potential safety and security hazards at the school site and take appropriate action to reduce or eliminate the hazards.

  • Keep the supervisor abreast of any and all incidents relevant to program participants and staff.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma Required
• Documented proficiency, i.e., degree, or in pursuit of a degree in security, criminal justice, etc. Preference is given to current or retired school security specialists.

Other

• Must have a valid Florida drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a level 2 background screening and drug test.
