Role Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee our mobile department and support the District Managers with their overnight sites and coverages. The focus of your job will be to conduct timely alarm responses & spot checks and to ensure that our overnight staff is on site, are well trained, well dressed, knowledgeable, have the right attitude towards their role, and fully comprehend what their role is meant to accomplish.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and train overnight mobile security officers
- Regularly patrol and spot-check premises
- Spot check guards to ensure Post Orders are being followed and they are adhering to company/client policies.
- Delivery of resources to sites when required, and at the same time, check on the quality service levels being provided by our employee, ensuring they are aware of post orders and performing them properly.
- Understand the workings and be able to fully utilize the scheduling system, providing you with the ability to see who is working at which location, at any time during your shift.
- Deal with onsite issues as requested by the Regional, District and/ or Operations Manager, such as providing backup services.
- Provide key control measures when needed.
- Cover floor time if needed.
- Defuse disturbances by adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Understand and have knowledge of the company policies pertaining to the wellbeing of staff, and the provision of operational services.
- Handle all interruptions and complaints in the assigned district.
- Assist the District Manager to ensure that staff site reports are completed accurately and professionally.
- Training site staff to develop necessary skills for optimal performance
- Visit assigned sites regularly and provide excellent client care.
- Motivating and coaching employees.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the site guards.
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
- Defuse potentially volatile situations and intervene when necessary.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
- Providing great customer service to the clients.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
Qualification and Skills
- Valid Alberta Security License
- Valid Driver’s license and own vehicle is required
- Clean drivers abstract is required
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifters preferred
- Previous experience in security is required.
- Must be proficient in the English language, spoken, written, and via electronics
- Willingness to attend meeting and trainings to improve skills
