Security Officer

Job Overview (Watchful Guard)
We are looking for responsible and alert Security Officers to help protect our clients’ properties. At Watchful Guard, your role is simple but important: keep watch, prevent issues, and report anything that needs attention. You will be part of a team that values professionalism, reliability, and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to observe, deter, and report any unsafe or suspicious activity
• Follow a strict hands-off policy — no physical contact unless it is a true emergency involving immediate danger
• Use a smartphone or tablet to complete reports, log patrols, take photos, and communicate with supervisors
• Monitor cameras or on-site systems for unusual behavior
• Respond quickly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents
• Follow all site rules, safety procedures, and client instructions
• Assist visitors or staff with basic questions
• Stay calm and respectful when handling conflicts and always aim to de-escalate
• Check locks, gates, lights, and other equipment to make sure everything is working properly
• Write simple, clear incident reports at the end of each shift

Qualifications

• Security experience is required
• CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus
• Must be comfortable using smartphones and basic mobile apps
• Must have a valid BSIS Guard Card
• Must provide a current form of ID
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from job sites
• Able to stay calm and professional in stressful situations
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
• Able to work independently and follow instructions
