Special Event Security:

Dates: Sept 30-Sep 4
Location: San Jose, CA
Shifts:
Morning (0600-1400) and Swing (1400-2200) SHIFTS VARY. May have a couple overnights.
We will be hiring on the spot and booking shifts. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Interviews will be held Thurs 9/26 and Friday 9/27
Please wear business casual attire and have guard card in hand.
Pay Rate: $27 an hour.
MUST have 3 years' experience in Supervising Special Events, Customer Service Security, Corporate, Hotel & Hospitality Security, and or Luxury Retail Security.
Requirements: MUST have a current California (BSIS) Guard Card to qualify.
This is an unarmed, non-less than lethal security position.
**Do not apply if you do not have one, and or still in the processing stages. You must have a Guard Card Number**
Scope of work:
Looking for experienced security professionals with great client facing communication skills to work in a dynamic environment, for a Technology based Conference at the San Jose Convention Center.
Security personnel will have various security posts with several responsibilities:
Evolv-Metal Detection Sytems (screeners)
Conference Access Control (Credential Verification)
Access Control (Fixed Posts) monitoring and controlling the flow of foot traffic and interacting with the attendees.
Security Foot Patrols: Be vigilant with identifying any safety and or security concerns and addressing them.
Asset Protection: Overnight/Graveyard shifts to monitor high value equipment and or items for the Conference.
All Security Positions require great communication skills as you will be interacting with all attendees, clients, and San Jose Convention Staff.
All positions require standing on your feet for long periods of time.
All positions require a great posture, positive attitude and up most professionalism from appearance, conversations to grooming standards.
No exposed tattoos (must be covered)
No facial jewelry/piercings and or exposed jewelry
Wedding and engagement rings are approved
For beards and mustaches: must be trimmed
Required Uniform Attire:
Must be able to provide and have the following:
All Black BDU style Pants, and or all Black Dress pants (Properly fitted) (not faded) (not baggy and long bottom pants)
All Black Belt (not faded) and properly fitted
If you are wearing a duty belt with your BDU pants, must be all black
All Black Duty Boots, and or all Black shoes
(NO Tennis Shoes allowed) business casual dress shoes that will be comfortable to wear while being on your feet for long periods of time.
We will be providing you with the uniform shirt and Jackets.
As a disclaimer, we want to set forth our clients and our companies expectations for working this event.
Absolutely no Cell phone use during your shift.
Absolutely no sitting. Leaning on any walls, and or slouched while I'm post. Looking for a great security posture
Hands should not be in your pant pockets, and or jacket pockets. Your hands should be forward crossed in front of you.
Absolutely no leaving/abandoning your assigned post without proper relief
Absolutely no fraternizing with clients and or event attendees
Absolutely no hostile and or argumentative, challenging, and unprofessional communication with guests, clients and or attendees
Be on time: this is a huge problem, if your shift is at 8am, you must be on post by 8am
If you are going to be late, you must call ahead of time to notify management on duty.
Always plan for traffic, and it's at least 10-15 minutes to park and walk to the Convention Center, plan accordingly and ahead!!!!!

What will not be provided:
Public garage and or parking lot fees: the event parking is $3-$8 per day. We will give you the address to the lot we have received a discounted rate for. Side street parking in limited and require street parking permits. (vehicles will be towed without one)
