Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Protection Specialist to provide comprehensive protective services to high-profile clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional professionalism, unwavering discretion, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic and high-pressure environments.

This full-time role, based in Palo Alto, CA, involves local assignments with the potential for domestic and international travel. You will be a key member of a security team, reporting to the onsite Team Leader and West Coast Manager, and play an essential role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of the client.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Close Protection Services:

  • Provide direct physical protection for the client during daily activities, events, and travel.
  • Securely transport the client using advanced defensive driving techniques while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies, performing first aid and other required actions.

Operational Planning:

  • Conduct detailed travel advances to evaluate routes, venues, and emergency action plans, identifying potential vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare mission plans and submit detailed reports, including after-action reviews, expense reports, and incident documentation.
  • Maintain operational readiness, including managing and testing protective and communications equipment.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the onsite Team Leader and West Coast Manager to align on mission objectives and strategies.
  • Support scheduling, team assignments, and operational logistics to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, and management, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.

Risk Mitigation:

  • Conduct ongoing threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Deescalate tense situations with professionalism and tact.
  • Identify and address security deficiencies promptly, escalating issues to management as necessary.

Competencies and Attributes

  • Professionalism: Maintains a low-profile, discreet demeanor while performing duties.
  • Strong Communication: Excels in verbal and written communication; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
  • Adaptability: Thrives under pressure, handling multiple tasks and dynamic situations with composure.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in defensive driving, operational planning, and modern communication technologies.
  • Team-Oriented: Demonstrated experience building effective working relationships in collaborative environments.

Qualifications and Education

  • At least 5 years of executive protection experience, including advanced planning, surveillance, counter-surveillance, and defensive driving.
  • High school diploma or GED (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • CPR and AED certification; basic medical first aid training (required).
  • California BSIS Guard Card and Exposed Weapon Card (required).
  • Valid California concealed carry permit/ LEOSA preferred(If CA resident)
  • Valid LEOSA if out-of-state resident (required)
  • Proven experience preparing and executing mission plans and reports.

Position Type and Schedule

  • Full-Time position (Regular Full-Time – RFT).
  • 24/7 availability to the client while on assignment, with flexible shifts.
  • May require travel domestically and internationally, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergencies and high-pressure situations.
  • Physical Readiness: Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in various outdoor environments.
  • Safety Awareness: Comfortable carrying authorized weapons and working in potentially sensitive or high-risk situations.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work irregular schedules, including extended hours as required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Regular use of computers and communications equipment, with exposure to confidential information.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
