What you get to do:
This role will lead the Security Team through daily operation of the Park on both Operating and Non-Operating hours to ensure a safe atmosphere for our employees and guests. This position will balance Security/Law Enforcement practices with that of Safety including Medical Response procedures, Fire Prevention, and Incident Management. You will:

Direct personnel involved in establishing and maintaining park security and property protection programs.

Directly supervise more than 36 security officers during an assigned shift in the Security Department.

Enthusiastically represents SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job.

Establish operational procedures for activities such as guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.

Confer with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with park activities.

Confer with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of park activities with law enforcement agencies.

Track worked hours and reports labor expenses to Director of Security, and oversees area budget.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring and training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations, and needs.

What it takes to succeed:

At least 18 years of age.

Have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Out of state residents, students, active military and their dependents must have a valid driver’s license and provide a copy of the DMV report from their state of residency.

C.P.R., First Aid, and Guard Card certifications.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Able to obtain a Firearms permit.

Strong written/verbal communication skills.

Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.

Able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
-
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with/without accommodations.

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
