Security Guard

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our premises, employees, and visitors. This position requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations. The Security Guard will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing loss, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Utilize systems to observe and report any suspicious activities or incidents.
• Manage conflicts effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
• Enforce company policies and procedures regarding security and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential hazards.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents as they arise.
• Provide assistance during emergencies, including administering CPR and first aid when necessary.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required to ensure public safety.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies.
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
• A military background or relevant training may be advantageous.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Be able to work overnight shifts from 8pm – 3am with flexibility of hours changing slightly based on demand, events and occupancy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 – $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
