As the School Security Officer, you will maintain order, security and safety at the assigned learning center. Security Officer’s are responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of personnel and students, enforcing both district and Ombudsman rules and regulations, and providing a variety of assistance to persons using the learning center’s facilities while working with a diverse population of personnel, students, parents and the public.
‖ Responsibilities Include:
Performing security patrols including perimeter of facility, classrooms, hallways and restrooms.
Enforcing Ombudsman policies and procedures consistent with the assigned location and under direction of the director/principal.
Providing support with home visits, truancy discussions, and potential student behavior concerns.
Providing an overall safe learning environment upon entry, exit, during classes, and transitions.
Performing check-in duties including backpacks, cell phones, and other items determined by the director/principal.
Investigating and writing reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
Providing any needed assistance to employees, students and visitors.
Providing written and/or verbal statements for security and safety issues/incidents with students and staff.
Providing security assistance as determined by the director/principal for events including open houses, graduations, weekend and evening tutoring sessions, and other site based events.
Participating in mitigation procedures and cleaning protocols.
Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
