Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Night Security Guard at our senior independent living community! We are seeking a vigilant and reliable individual to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents during nighttime hours. As a Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment, providing peace of mind to both residents and their families. Essential Functions

  • Monitors and responds to alarms.
  • Performs regular patrol of the entire community campus. Patrols are conducted by vehicle and by foot several times during the shift. Checks empty apartments, houses and buildings several times during shift.
  • Answers all cell phone calls throughout the shift and during patrols.
  • Completes COVID screening of Associates and after-hours guests.
  • Answers the maintenance after-hours phone calls and trouble shoot the issue or write up a work order in TELS (TB campus position).
  • Keeps a log of patrols made and work performed each shift.
  • Inspects all lighting during each shift and writes up work orders in TELS.
  • Calls 911 as necessary and helps emergency personnel locate apartment and Resident needing assistance.
  • Performs the following maintenance duties: unplugs toilets, water clean up, water shut-off, clean up of parking lot. Informs Director of Plant Operations of emergency maintenance problems.
  • Wears uniform and nametag.
  • Completes office work as directed.
  • Opens and closes outside security gates (morning and evening).
  • Covers for open shifts as necessary at any LifeStream community.
  • Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents / guests requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English in a professional manner, as you communicate with co-workers, supervisors, Residents, families, and others with whom you may come in contact.

  • Must be able to make independent decisions in emergency situations.
  • Must have resourcefulness in emergency situations and be level headed and calm.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and initiative in organizing, planning and coordinating of assignments.
  • Must be able to treat Resident information as confidential.
  • Must adhere to dress code and be clean and neat at all times.
  • Must have the ability to respond to multiple priorities and/or events.
  • Reports to work on time.
  • Reports to work when scheduled.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and in-services.
  • Must maintain a current drivers license and comply with all requirements of Bethesda'sAuto Policy.
  • Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following the Bethesda Senior Living Communities Mission Statement.

Education/Experience

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Experience: Must have an AZDPS Unarmed Guard Card (or able to obtain one within 30 days of employment). Experience required. Must be able to read and understand labels, and be able to measure chemicals correctly. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of Residents.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, squat, bend, turn & stretch, push & pull, reach & lift throughout the entire shift. Must be able to use proper lifting and transfer techniques. Must be able to work holidays, evenings, other shifts, or weekends when necessary. Must be able to work in all kinds of weather. Yearly TB test (if needed, a Chest X-ray).
