Job Description

Summary: Directly supervises security officers while maintaining policies and programs to ensure physical safety of the casino’s guests, employees, property and assets; complies with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board security requirements and the casino’s internal controls.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Rivers Core Values at all times
  • Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive work atmosphere
  • Maintain grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate and nametags are to be worn at all times
  • Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times
  • Be aware of and handle guest opportunities
  • Maintain daily log, i.e. time clocks, sign-in sheets when available
  • Functions as a Security Supervisor as a primary position and performs the duties of an E.M.R. when the need arises
  • Respond to and assist with emergencies, including but not limited to fires, medical, and criminal activity, in accordance with established procedures
  • Respond to disturbances in order to defuse the incident. Be prepared to become involved in a physical confrontation when necessary. Always remain Alert
  • Observe, report, and take-action as directed by leadership with respect to all suspicious, unusual situations
  • Responds to suspicions of problem or underage gambling and alcohol or drug intoxication in accordance with established procedures and protocols
  • Answers emergency calls as a First Responder to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured guests or team members until higher level emergency responders (such as E.M.T. or Paramedics) arrive
  • Has a basic understanding of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being
  • Complies with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property and evidence at the scene, while awaiting additional EMS resources
  • Using a limited amount of equipment, the E.M.R. renders emergency medical care based on assessment findings
  • Interviews guests and Team Members when security incidents occur
  • Contacts manager when security situations require intervention beyond scope of authority
  • Obtains assistance for accident victims
  • Writes detailed security reports
  • Knowledge in various computers programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred
  • Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
  • Supervises Security Officers, Security Officer-Class II, Senior Security Officers and Patrol Officers assisting with guest interactions and transactions as needed.
  • Responsible for developing criteria and suitability for future candidates.
  • Confers with representatives of management to recommend policy changes, determines need for programs and training, and coordinates programs with the casino's goals and objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews, approves and issues personnel performance notices and performance reviews.
  • Works with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
  • Directs activities of workers involved in workplace safety programs.
  • Hires, trains, and manages staff is accordance with organizational and approved departmental policies, practices and programs.
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 3 or more years of relevant work or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent knowledge in various computers programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stoop, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
  • Must occasionally move and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
