The Skatium Ice Rink of Haverford is seeking qualified candidates to join our team for Event Security

The Event Security team is responsible to ensure the safety, security, and a good customer experience for our guests during events. They enforce Skatium policies in a positive and professional manner; control access in assigned areas; monitor activity in the Skatium and surrounding areas; and address, communicate, and assist with documenting incidents as they arise.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey instructions and information to large groups.
• Conflict Resolution: Skills to de-escalate tense situations and manage conflicts calmly.
• Attention to Detail: Vigilance in monitoring crowds and identifying potential issues.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and respond quickly to incidents.
• Customer Service: Providing assistance and ensuring a positive experience for attendees.
• Available nights/weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and Control Access: Oversee entry and exit points to ensure only authorized individuals enter the venue.
• Maintain Order: Prevent disorderly behavior and manage crowd movements to avoid overcrowding.
• Respond to Emergencies: Provide assistance during emergencies and coordinate with emergency services if needed.
• Enforce Rules and Regulations: Ensure compliance with venue policies, such as alcohol and smoking regulations.
• Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes and de-escalate potential conflicts among attendees.
• Provide Information and Assistance: Help attendees with directions and information about the event.
• Collaborate with Event Staff: Work closely with event organizers, local authorities, and other security personnel.
• Conduct Safety Checks: Perform regular checks to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
• Report Incidents: Document and report any issues or incidents to the appropriate authorities.
• Assist in closing venue at the end of event, including some janitorial duties such as emptying trash and/or mopping.
