Unarmed Gate Security Officer – Philadelphia Airport

Position Title: Security Officer/Flagger

Location: Philadelphia International Airport

Job Type: Full-Time Weekdays or Overnights

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant individual to join our team as a Security Officer Flagger or Gate Security Officer at the Airport. The Security Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of the airport.

Flagger Responsibilities:

• Manage traffic flow in designated areas of the airport
• Direct vehicles to appropriate locations for loading and unloading while ensuring compliance with airport regulations and safety protocols
• Monitor and enforce parking regulations to maintain order and ensure efficient use of parking spaces
• Communicate effectively with drivers, passengers, and airport personnel to provide directions, assistance, and information as needed
• Collaborate with other security personnel to identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches
• Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies and provide assistance until further help arrives
• Complete incident reports, log activities, and maintain accurate records of daily operations

Gate Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections of trucks entering and exiting designated checkpoints to ensure compliance with security regulations and procedures
• Verify the identity of truck drivers and validate the authenticity of required documentation, including driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations, and cargo manifests
• Utilize security equipment such as X-ray machines, handheld scanners, and mirrors to conduct inspections effectively
• Inspect truck cargo and freight to detect prohibited items, hazardous materials, or other security risks
• Communicate clearly and professionally with truck drivers, providing instructions on security procedures and requirements
• Coordinate with airport personnel, law enforcement agencies, and other security officers to address security concerns and respond to incidents as needed
• Document inspection findings, security incidents, and any violations of security protocols accurately and promptly

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a SIDA badge (company-sponsored)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in security
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and obtain necessary security clearances

Working Conditions

• The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain and snow
• NOTE: YOU WILL BE ON THE TARMAC NEAR THE AIRPLANES
