Job Description

The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a Doorperson to join their team!

The Doorperson at the Soho Grand Hotel is knowledgeable, gracious and attentive, as they have the unique responsibility of being the first and last impression for each guest, patron and neighbor. They possess a strong understanding of the neighborhood and remain attentive to guests by anticipating needs and being well versed in all of the hotels offerings. The Doorperson controls the flow and feel of the main entrance to the building by greeting each guest, holding doors, assisting with luggage, and transport, including hailing cabs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests while providing genuine, professional service as defined by Soho Grand’s service culture which includes using the guest’s name during interactions. Be fully knowledgeable of rooms and services provided by the hotel – including outlets – to ensure exceptional service
  • Provide genuine, efficient and accurate service, taking all opportunities to probe guests with questions to understand the purpose of their stay and how we can exceed their expectations
  • Serve as an ally to the guests, becoming knowledgeable of their preferences in order to curate personalized and memorable experiences and recognize repeat guests
  • Actively resolve any concern to your best ability
  • Recognize and celebrate milestones for our guests, birthdays and anniversaries to further enhance a unique guest experience
  • Support fellow team members and collaborate where possible to deliver the unexpected and anticipate our guests needs
  • Maintain and control the front entrance of the hotel by ensuring the front entrance, sidewalk, and street areas are clean, safe, and secure
  • Maintain a meticulously clean and organized workspace, including the bell closets, front door, and lobby areas
  • Anticipate our guests’ needs (i.e., holding umbrellas, opening trunks, assisting with wheel chairs, hailing taxis, etc.) to exceed expectations
  • Maintain and handle guest amenities available at the door and in the bell closets
  • Attentively open doors for incoming and outgoing guests
  • Assist arrivals with luggage delivery and storage, as needed
  • Assist guests with obtaining taxi cabs, private cars, and limousines
  • Communicate with the parking garage and front desk to ensure valet protocol is followed ensuring cars are inspected to be certain there is no damage
  • Answer questions a guest may have regarding the hotel or neighborhood

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
