As we near completion of a full redesign of all our guest rooms and suites, we are looking for a part-time Bellmen/Doorman to join our winning team.
JOB TITLE: Part-time Doorman/Bellman
DEPARTMENT: Front Office
REPORTS TO: Front Office Management
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. The ability to greet guests in an outgoing, friendly and courteous manner, welcoming them to the hotel.
2. The ability to open automobile and hotel doors and assist guests descending from automobiles and getting into automobiles.
3. The ability to unload (or load) and tag luggage and issue claim tickets.
4. The ability to direct guests to areas of the hotel as well as locations within the city.
5. The ability to ensure the smooth flow of all traffic in and out of the loading zone, to issue claim tickets to guests to be valet parked, to explain valet parking services, and to direct valet parking staff to park and retrieve vehicles.
6. The ability to assist guests with limousines and taxis.
7. The ability to provide directions and general information as required. Must be aware of all hotel services, hours of operations, special events, etc.
8. The ability to direct guests and delivery persons to the appropriate areas for drop off.
9. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
10. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
11. The ability to review all materials concerning daily events, i.e., return guests, VIPs and function sheets.
12. The ability to escort arriving guests to their room, handling their luggage with care and efficiency and presenting the in-room orientation.
13. The ability to handle a guest room change request.
14. The ability to assist departing guests with luggage, transportation requirements, etc.
15. The ability to store and retrieve guest luggage and belongings.
16. The ability to page guests in public areas, answer telephones, deliver messages, packages, flowers, etc. to their guest rooms.
17. The ability to run errands for guests and the Front Office staff.
18. The ability to help maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the lobby, at the Front Desk, the front entrance and the luggage storage areas.
19. The ability to call guests by their names and remember return guest’s names.
20. The ability to project an image of friendliness, professionalism and willingness to provide personalized services to guests.
21. The ability to work closely with the Front Office, Valet Parking and security staff.
22. The ability to assist with any activities in the hotel.
23. The ability to communicate all guest complaints and concerns keeping upper management informed.
24. The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
25. The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
27. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
