About the Club:

The New York Athletic Club, founded in 1868, is a platinum and emerald-rated, private club. The NYAC has over 9,000 active members. The NYAC remains steadfastly committed to its roots, supporting athletes at the highest levels of Olympic competition while providing world class facilities at its two locations – the Manhattan City House and Travers Island in Westchester County – for those of its members who wish simply to remain fit and healthy.

The NYAC – Travers Island sits on a beautiful 33-acre property. The Clubs focal points are the Olympic-sized saltwater swimming pool, children’s pool, cabanas, a pool & tennis Snack Bar, 18 Tennis courts, 5 Paddle Courts, a rowing facility, a brand new 13,000 Sq Ft. Fitness Facility, a Yacht Club consisting of Floating Docks and a full-service Marina.

The Club surrounds itself around the 60,000+ Sq Ft. Clubhouse that houses a Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 250 guests, outdoor patio seating for 200, Multiple Banquet and Meeting Rooms, Two Dining Rooms, Two Bars, and multiple administrative offices.

Summary:

The Temporary Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members, guests and staff members.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Monitoring of access/admittance to the New York Athletic Club, guiding Club members and guests to Club facilities and functions; assisting in enforcement of House Rules and policies; assist if fire, security, and safety procedures; acts as fire safety director during applicable shifts. Responds to and investigates disturbances, complaints, property loss and/or damage, vandalism, and accidents/prepares reports the same. Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing/inoperative safety equipment.

Must possess good oral and written communication skills; identify and resolve problems in a timely fashion; follow policies and procedures; displays willingness to make decisions; follows instructions, responds to management direction; ability to read and comprehend guidelines, rules, and procedures, comfortable in confrontational situations, pays attention to details and Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently.

***Applicant must have valid NY Security License as well as T89, F89, or Z89 Fire Life Safety Director License***
