Security Guard – JFK Airport

TRAFFIC GUARD (JFK Airport)

Starting Pay: $21.25/hr.

Schedule: Part-Time – shifts available:

3:00 AM – 11:00 AM

11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

7:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Job Duties:

• Direct traffic in parking lots and ensure smooth vehicle flow.
• Monitor for irregularities such as security breaches, safety hazards, and emergencies; notify appropriate responders when needed.
• Remain alert for unauthorized persons or suspicious activity; report or detain violators until authorities arrive.
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to ensure safety and security.
• Inspect gates, doors, and access points for security compliance.
• Prepare routine reports and maintain accurate records.
• Provide escorts as necessary and enforce site rules (e.g., no loitering or carrying prohibited items).
• Perform periodic checks of emergency call boxes and lighting; report malfunctions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NY State Security Guard License required.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and climb stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and react appropriately in emergencies.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Knowledge of CPR, first aid, and fire extinguisher use is preferred.
