Pay Rate: $17.00/Hourly
Shift: Weekends (8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, or 12am-8am)

THE ROLE
As a Building Security Guard at The Oncenter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all team members and guests. Your primary responsibility is to enforce security measures, deter potential incidents, and respond promptly to any security concerns that may arise during regular operations or events.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Utilize surveillance systems to monitor the premises and identify potential security threats.

Communicate, greet, and offer information or directions to guests in a courteous and helpful manner.

Conduct foot patrols throughout the facilities, observe ongoing activities, and proactively identify and prevent signs of intrusion.

Verify credentials and enforce access control measures to restrict entry to authorized personnel only.

Handle phone calls professionally, provide guidance, and promptly notify relevant individuals as needed.

Conduct thorough incident investigations and compile accurate incident reports.

Receive, document, track, and manage deliveries efficiently.

Oversee the facility's lost and found, contacting individuals upon identifying lost items.

Promptly respond to fire alarm systems, investigating and notifying the appropriate personnel and authorities.

Collaborate with staff to ensure clients and guests experience the highest quality service during their events.

Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on security procedures, emergency response protocols, and industry best practices.

Adhere to the department's dress code and present yourself in a friendly and approachable manner.

Perform other assigned responsibilities and duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.

New York State Security Guard License.

Proven experience in security roles, preferably in a large venue or event setting.

Previous hospitality industry, customer service, or retail experience preferred.

Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.

Excellent observational and communication skills.

Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including holidays with the opportunity to sign up for open shifts and the potential for additional earnings.
