Safeguard America is a trusted partner for cruise lines, ensuring the safety and well-being of international crew members during their stay in the United States. Our security guards play a vital role in safeguarding these crew members, from their arrival at the port to their departure back to their home country, while adhering to immigration and safety protocols. It is our responsibility to be aware of these crew members’ location at all times, whether it be in our office, at our partner hotels, or hospitals.

*We are looking for a hard-working security guard to work around 20-40 hours throughout the week. Our busiest days are from Thursday-Monday, perfect for part-time work! If interested, please feel free to apply!*

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active Class D Security License
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Open availability to work any day and any shift with reasonable accommodations.
• Reliable means of transportation to and from work.
• Reliable means of communication (cell / mobile phone and email address).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conduct a thorough check on any issues from the previous shift at the start of each day.

· Receive daily schedule and crew member manifest from Agent/Guard Lead; review and understand the assignment of rooms for crew members.

· Report any issues promptly to Lead Agent / Security Supervisors.

· Always be in proper uniform; deviations must be approved by Agent/Guard Lead.

· Conduct rounds on all floors of the safeguard holding area every 30 minutes.

· Collaborate with hotel employees and cruise line help desk for smooth operation.

· Safeguard international crew members, ensuring their whereabouts are known at all times.

· Accompany crew members directly to the gate of their flight, maintaining possession of crew members’ documents (passports, plane tickets, etc.).

· Security guards cannot leave the airport until the plane each crew member is on takes off, ensuring a smooth process with customs and border patrol.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish with others both orally and in writing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work extended shifts, sometimes up to 16-hour days.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.
• Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.
• Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of portable fire extinguishers and their locations.
• Knowledge of the geography of the site to which assigned.

ENVIRONMENT:

Position based in Field Operations. Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 45 per week
