School Security Guard – Part-Time (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, 25 hrs/week)

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and attentive Afternoon Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, families, and staff during afternoon hours, with a strong focus on overseeing traffic flow and campus security. Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage the flow of vehicles during school dismissal to ensure orderly and efficient traffic patterns.
• Monitor designated pick-up and drop-off zones to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of students and families.
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations on school grounds.

Campus Security:

• Oversee the safety and security of all students, families, and staff during afternoon hours.
• Conduct regular patrols of school grounds and access points to deter unauthorized entry or suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to any safety concerns, incidents, or emergencies.

Safety Procedures:

• Monitor security cameras and alarms as needed.
• Assist in the implementation and practice of school safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence during dismissal times and after-school activities.

Communication:

• Communicate effectively with school staff, administration, parents, and local authorities as needed.
• Provide clear instructions and guidance to families and visitors regarding safety and traffic rules.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a similar role preferred
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-traffic or stressful situations
• Must be able to stand, walk, and direct traffic outdoors for extended periods
