Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Security team is seeking a Security Shift Supervisor! The main function of this position is to supervise security officers while training, mentoring, and guiding.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

  • Supervise and direct security officers to maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the arena property.
  • Handle all administrative matters involving direct reports and other tasks assigned by the security manager.
  • Review and approve payroll and PTO.
  • Coordinate the staff schedule with the Security Manager.
  • Evaluate direct reports.
  • Train, mentor, and guide direct reports on all organization and department policies and procedures.
  • Communicate all significant and critical matters to the Security Manager.
  • Ensure all life safety SOPs are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during events and non-event days. If vital, escort disruptive individuals off the premises.
  • Serve as a liaison with the police and fire department during the assigned shift.
  • Review and accurate incident reports.
  • Lead all aspects of the lost and found program.
  • Inspect alarms and fire extinguisher/sprinkler systems to determine they are set to operate. Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering.
  • Tour the facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
  • Assist with crowd control inside and outside the premises.
  • Control unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots, and other emergencies.
  • Monitor CCTV and an array of other security and building operation systems.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Assist departments with any security-related issues.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Assist the security division with special projects.

Education and/or Experience

Must have security supervision experience for a minimum of 2 years. Must demonstrate knowledge and a clear understanding of sports and entertainment venues in the safety and security field.

Class D License, CPR, and AED Certifications
