Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Security team is seeking a Security Shift Supervisor! The main function of this position is to supervise security officers while training, mentoring, and guiding.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

Supervise and direct security officers to maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the arena property.

Handle all administrative matters involving direct reports and other tasks assigned by the security manager.

Review and approve payroll and PTO.

Coordinate the staff schedule with the Security Manager.

Evaluate direct reports.

Train, mentor, and guide direct reports on all organization and department policies and procedures.

Communicate all significant and critical matters to the Security Manager.

Ensure all life safety SOPs are understood and adhered to at all times.

Handle any disturbances or problems that arise during events and non-event days. If vital, escort disruptive individuals off the premises.

Serve as a liaison with the police and fire department during the assigned shift.

Review and accurate incident reports.

Lead all aspects of the lost and found program.

Inspect alarms and fire extinguisher/sprinkler systems to determine they are set to operate. Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering.

Tour the facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.

Assist with crowd control inside and outside the premises.

Control unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots, and other emergencies.

Monitor CCTV and an array of other security and building operation systems.

Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

Assist departments with any security-related issues.

Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Assist the security division with special projects.

Education and/or Experience

Must have security supervision experience for a minimum of 2 years. Must demonstrate knowledge and a clear understanding of sports and entertainment venues in the safety and security field.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Class D License, CPR, and AED Certifications
