Security Officer

Armed Security Officer – School Campus (Full-Time)

Location: Miami, FL

We are seeking a highly trained, reliable, and professional Armed Security Officer to protect a school campus, ensure a safe learning environment, and provide a strong, visible security presence. This role requires exceptional judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively to any situation involving students, staff, and visitors.

Key ResponsibilitiesCampus Safety & Patrol

• Maintain a highly visible presence across school grounds, entrances, parking areas, and hallways.
• Monitor arrival and dismissal times to ensure safe and orderly flow of students and vehicles.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, and designated high-risk zones.
• Escort students, staff, or visitors when necessary.

Incident Response & Threat Prevention

• Identify suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or unauthorized individuals.
• Respond immediately to emergencies, disturbances, alarms, or medical incidents.
• Support the school in lockdowns, evacuations, and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate with school administration and law enforcement when required.

Access Control

• Verify identification of visitors and enforce school security policies.
• Monitor gates, doors, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.
• Ensure prohibited items are not brought onto campus.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and visitor records.
• Communicate effectively with school leadership and YMW Security supervisors.

Requirements

• Active Class “D” and Class “G” License (State of Florida).
• Valid firearm license and ability to qualify with company-approved handgun.
• Clean background, drug-free, and eligible for Level 2 screening.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Professional appearance and excellent judgment when interacting with students.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position; Monday–Friday school hours with occasional after-hours events.
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience and licensing.
• Opportunities for overtime, growth, and additional training.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
