Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Security Shift Manager is responsible for creating, establishing, and verifying compliance with security procedures and regulatory standards such TSA, MDAD, & CBP, airport security design processes and policies, and utilizing threat analysis to assess risk management. The Security Shift Manager will serve as a liaison between the customer requirements and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the appropriate standards of safety, compliance, training, and security are achieved in line with corporate and customer requirements aligned with the Airport Authorities
  • Ensure that the required Company audit requirements are undertaken to always ensure continuity and compliance.

Must ensure high-value shipments are well-secured and CCTV monitored.

  • Ensures cargo is accepted for all Cargo Flights checked according to TSA regulations (ACISP)
  • Ensure all staff is well-equipped for Walkthroughs and using X-ray scanner
  • Manage information from various reporting tools to determine and manage risks
  • Review security practices and procedures to ensure that they are in line with regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop security solutions to address evolving operational processes with a focus on identifying solutions
  • Responsible for performance management and operative headcount numbers
  • Responsible for daily operations and ensuring all agents are well-equipped as well as trained
  • Managing timely, ethical, and professional investigations into theft and workplace incidents.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the Airport Security Directors, Local TSA Federal Security Directors, and Local CBP Port Directors within your region, as well as local Federal Law Enforcement and Local Law Enforcement
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, LICENSE, and/or CERTIFICATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid Security D License
  • Must have a valid Driver License
  • All Security Officers must be U.S Citizen

EXPERIENCE and/or KNOWLEDGE

  • Well-versed in all aspects of airport security and best practices
  • Minimum 3 years or more of cargo security and ground operation experience with proven ability to lead
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills)

SKILL and/or ABILITIES

  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Confident and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to rapidly shift tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand the documented processes and financial budgets
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent writing and communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with an emphasis on self-initiation and follow through
  • Requires flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and as needed during irregular operations.
  • Must be able to obtain a SIDA Badge from the airport
  • Must be able to pass all company pre-employment requirements
