Job Description

The Security Systems Operator will be responsible for monitoring security systems, including alarm handling, CCTV surveillance, and access control for commercial properties. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with prior experience in a security-related environment who can provide basic technical assistance and respond effectively to security situations. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and demonstrates strong communication skills while working collaboratively in a team setting. This position is ideal for a motivated and fast learner eager to adapt and enhance security operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to security alarms, ensuring timely and appropriate action is taken
  • Conduct CCTV surveillance, identifying and reporting suspicious activities or security concerns
  • Provide basic technical assistance related to security systems, including troubleshooting minor issues
  • Oversee access control measures for commercial properties, ensuring only authorized personnel enter secure areas
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of security incidents, alarms, and system activity
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance security operations and improve response protocols
  • Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes
  • Adapt quickly to new security technologies, procedures, and evolving security needs
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a secure environment
  • Follow company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Diligent, Punctual and Ready to work!
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives assigned by the supervisor.?

Technical Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of alarm handling and response procedures
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring and providing basic technical support
  • Familiarity with access control systems for commercial properties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Quick learner with a proactive approach to adapting to security protocols
  • Prior experience working in a security-related role, preferably in a building or secure facility


Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a security company or security-related position (guard card not required)
  • Experience in monitoring security access, alarms, and surveillance systems
  • Background in working with commercial properties requiring security measures
  • Ability to learn and apply new security procedures effectively


Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 30 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicle and walk up and down stairs during your shift.
  • Must be able to stand, sit for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist.
