SSI is looking for an experienced Post Commander who values long term job security and stability. The Post Commander will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services to our clients, acting as a liaison between the client, operations manager, and security officers.

Job Requirements:

• Performs site inspections and ensures post orders are being followed.
• Assigns and directs work, and supports staff as needed to carry out responsibilities.
• Assists in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to providing supervision, scheduling, counseling and evaluations, professional development, recognition and rewards.
• Handles or escalates any security issues or emergency situations appropriately.
• Ensuring the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and the facility.
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel, clients, and the general public.
• Assists in directing and administering the patrol of the interior of and the perimeter of the building and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
• Is available to work Day and Swing shifts and overtime as needed

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of security experience
• Minimum of one year of experience managing people, preferably in a Post Commander or relevant Leadership role
• Excellent communication in the English language (verbal + written) and interpersonal skills
• High School Diploma – mandatory; Associates Degree or higher level of education -preferred
• Service in the US Military, Military reserves, or National Guard is desirable, but not mandatory
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, occasionally lifting or carrying equipment (up to 40 pounds), and climb stairs, ramps or ladders as needed.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check

• Valid BSIS-issued CA Guard Card
• Proof of BSIS-mandated AB 2880 training (40 hours) and any other security-related certificates of training that you may possess.
