Summary:
An Armed Security Officer is responsible for protecting people and property by ensuring a safe environment, responding to emergencies, and preventing criminal activity. You will patrol assigned areas, monitor surveillance systems, and enforce access control measures to safeguard against unauthorized entry. In situations involving threats, you will follow strict protocols to maintain safety. Additionally, armed security officers de-escalate conflicts, assist in emergency response, and collaborate with law enforcement when necessary. Document incidents accurately and maintain vigilance in all tasks, adhering to legal, ethical, and organizational standards to ensure a secure and protected environment for all individuals on the premises.
Responsibilities:
- Protection of People and Property: Ensure the safety of individuals on the premises by preventing criminal activity, such as theft, vandalism, or assault, while also safeguarding property and equipment.
- Patrol and Surveillance: Regularly patrol assigned areas, both inside and outside the premises, while monitoring surveillance equipment (CCTV) for unusual activity or potential security threats.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, such as medical incidents, fires, or violent altercations, providing assistance until emergency responders arrive, and ensuring the situation is handled effectively.
- Use of Force Protocol: Be knowledgeable and trained in the appropriate use of force, following legal and organizational guidelines, to ensure the safety of individuals while minimizing harm.
- Conflict De-escalation: De-escalate potentially volatile situations by using verbal communication, non-threatening body language, and other conflict resolution techniques, aiming to avoid violence whenever possible.
- Incident Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely reports of incidents, suspicious activities, and any use of force, providing clear records for internal review or law enforcement if needed.
- Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to ensure only authorized individuals gain access to restricted areas, and respond to situations involving unauthorized entry.
- Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services, providing assistance during incidents or investigations, and sharing relevant security information when necessary.
- Detainment and Arrest: When necessary, detain individuals involved in criminal activity or disruptive behavior until law enforcement arrives, following proper legal and organizational procedures for such actions.
- Adherence to Legal and Ethical Standards: Always act within the boundaries of the law, maintain ethical conduct, and follow established policies, procedures, and training to uphold the integrity of the security role.
Qualifications
- Guard Card*

- Baton Permit*
- Pepper Spray Permit (Obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Certification in First Aid and CPR
