Salary: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 a year. Exact compensation may vary based on experience, skills, knowledge, and education.

Position Summary

The Bank Premises and Security Officer primary function and responsibility is to ensure the Bank’s physical environment runs smoothly and the safety of all employees and visitors.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Indirectly supervises employees within the Premises department.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

(Duties not limited to those provided here):

  • Keep the President/CEO informed of issues and situations pertaining to security;
  • Administer and update the Bank’s security program so as to be in conformance with applicable laws and regulations and management philosophy;
  • Assess Bank facilities for possible security issues and concerns;
  • Provide training to the staff at large in the area of Bank security and protection;
  • Respond to inquiries arising from internal and external audits and examinations on matters relevant to Bank security;
  • Interact with local law enforcement and protection agencies with respect to the maintenance of a safe environment for Bank employees and customers;
  • “Annual Security Report to Board of Directors (Appendix – A)” should be reported at least annually to the Board of Directors on the implementation, administration, and effectiveness of the Bank’s security program.
  • Oversee the upkeep of all physical buildings, ensuring they are safe, secure, and in good repair. Regularly inspect electrical systems, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the premises. Coordinate with janitorial staff or external cleaning service providers.
  • Oversee the inventory of office and breakroom supplies, ensuring the organization has the necessary resources for smooth operations. This includes managing office equipment, procuring new items, and retiring outdated or broken equipment.
  • Maintain a secure, clean, and organized document warehouse for the long-term storage of paper documents. Arrange for the transportation of documents to and from the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, and other regulatory standards. Carry out risk assessments and act upon findings to mitigate potential issues.
  • Promote and implement initiatives to improve the sustainability of the premises, such as energy-saving measures and recycling programs.
  • Comply with and adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Management, or related field. Significant experience in facilities management or a related role can fulfill this requirement.
  • Several years of experience in facilities management or a related role.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and resilience in facing unforeseen challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
