Job Summary and Qualifications

• 
  Conducts regular and thorough patrols throughout the interior and exterior of the Emergency Department noting present and potential safety, fire, or security hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.
• 
  Responds to calls for assistance with combative patients and disorderly persons to include assisting EMS staff with control and monitoring of Baker Act patients.
• 
  Serves as a visible representative of the facility. Assists patients, visitors and staff in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
• 
  Collects and compiles information to complete a variety of reports in a timely and accurate manner
• 
  Responds to emergency situations in order to resolve any incident that could potentially harm staff, patients, and visitors. Calls for assistance as needed.
• 
  Conducts investigations of all items reported stolen in order to aid staff and patients in recovering articles
• 
  Monitors and promotes compliance with policies such as parking, solicitation, smoking and visiting hours
• 
  Escorts visitors, patients and staff to vehicles as requested
• 
  Responds to fire alarms when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• 
  Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office sworn Police Officer abiding by the Office of the Sheriff Secondary Employment general order required
