Base Wages following training period is $40.52 per hour and $5.25 per hour Health & Welfare (up to 40 hours per week)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Ideal candidates have at least two (2) years of Armed Security experience OR Law Enforcement experience OR Military experience
• Must Possess a BSIS Guard Card and Firearms Permit with .40 caliber designation
• BSIS CA Exposed Weapon Permit must be .40 caliber designation
• BSIS CA Baton Permit preferred
• OC/Pepper Spray Certification preferred
• First Air, CPR, AED – through the AHA or Red Cross preferred, cannot be from a BLS provider
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• US Citizen

As a Paragon Security Officer (PSO) you will observe and report activities and incidents while assigned to the DHS Federal Protective Service. This includes providing for the security and safety of federally owned / leased facilities, federal property and personnel.

Additionally, primary responsibilities include preventing unauthorized access to facilities, responding to unusual or emergency situations, using appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol, making periodic tours to check for irregularities, and inspecting protection devices and fire control equipment. Lastly, duties also include preserving order and acting to enforce regulations / directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.

• Additional compensation of $1.00 – $3.00 may be available at sites requiring a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
