This is a part-time, event-based role servicing our client property and their tenants, including the State Fair of Texas.
This position oversees Event Security Officers in interior and exterior settings, ranging from crowd control and credential verification, to bag screening and asset protection. This position reports up to the Event Manager in charge, and the department is overseen by the Director of Operations.
Supervisory Duties:
- Performance, appearance, and morale upkeep
- Attending mandatory company trainings and pre-event briefings
- Briefing and demonstrating proper work techniques to staff
- Enforcing company and client procedures, protocols, and policies
- Responsive upstream and downstream communication from senior leadership to security officers
- Overall maintenance of assigned area of operation, including supplies for staff, company and client assets, and public-facing appearance of security team
- Other responsibilities as defined by senior leadership
Desired candidates have a “lead from the front” leadership philosophy, with demonstrated experience in setting and maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications:
- At least 5-years of demonstrable experience in a leadership/supervisory position
- Shorter duration of experience can be supplemented by relevant degree/certifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Professional conduct and presentation of self and work product
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task on duties while staying on target for overall responsibility
- If scheduled, must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree or professional certificates related to public safety, criminal justice, project management, or other related fields
- Previous experience in a high volume, fast paced work setting
- Experience with report writing and employee time keeping
Technical Skills Desired:
- Experience/understanding of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Experience with radio communications
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs multiple times per event
- Must be able to move and manipulate items weighing up to 50 pounds
- – This maximum weight is push/pull for trolley loads. Common weight of items to carry is approximately 25 pounds- Works in all weather conditions and frequently during early mornings and late nights during events
