Job Description

Summary:

Guard ministry property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The professional staff at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship have distinct roles that directly or indirectly affect the spiritual development of church members. Each employee must model Christian values in daily interactions and uphold the church's core values. Minister and pray with co-workers, promote a unified and spiritually enriching work environment with a servant attitude while supporting the church and church members of the community. Must demonstrate a commitment to the church’s mission and values in all aspects of the role by engaging in continuous spiritual growth and development through participation in church activities and personal discipleship. You must be actively involved in staff meetings, Bible studies, and support the church’s mission to influence and serve the broader community through active involvement in church functions while performing the essential job requirements.

(other duties may be assigned):

  • Patrol buildings and grounds of ministry, including affiliate establishments and work sites.
  • Maintain a daily patrol log.
  • Examine various checkpoints, including doors, windows, and gates to determine security.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, and carrying forbidden articles.
  • Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
  • Report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Activate emergency response system in emergency cases (i.e. sound alarm/call police/call fire department).
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain orderly flow.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED and two years related experience/training;
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Knowledge of public security codes, policies, and regulations.
  • Skill in providing protection services to individuals on campus.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
