Position Overview:

We seek a Bilingual Security Officer to effectively lead our building security operations. The ideal candidate will embrace the responsibilities of their shift and work closely with other members of their department and the other departments as well to ensure optimal results in ensuring the building and its tenants safety.

Duties:

Security Officer duties typically include the following.

• Access Control – Monitoring entrances and exits to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises. provisioning and deprovisioning access will also be entrusted to the security team.
• Patrolling – Routine patrols on the interior and exteriors of the premises to ensure that there are no security breaches or other pertinent issues to report.
• Surveillance – Observing security cameras and monitoring the premises for suspicious behavior.
• Incident Response – Responding quickly to alarms, emergencies, or disturbances and reporting incidents to management or law enforcement.
• Reporting – Maintaining accurate, detailed records of all activities, including daily logs, incident reports, and observations.
• Customer Service – Assisting visitors, providing directions, and helping employees and guests as needed while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Emergency Procedures – Knowing and implementing emergency protocols, including fire safety, evacuations, and medical response.
• Ensuring Safety Protocols – Enforcing company or building policies, such as badge identification, restricted areas, or safety regulations.
• Conflict Management – De-escalating tense situations and managing disputes or potentially harmful behavior in a calm, professional manner.
• Inspections – Performing regular inspections of equipment, access points, and other security-related systems.

Experience:

A Security Officer should have a comprehensive blend of experience and skills to manage and work in security operations effectively. Key areas of expertise include:

• Emergency Response and Crisis Management: Experience in handling emergency situations, developing response plans, and coordinating with other internal departments.
• Security Technology: Familiarity with security systems and technologies, such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems, and the ability to integrate and manage these technologies effectively.
• Incident Investigation: Experience in investigating security incidents, gathering and analyzing evidence, and preparing reports for senior management or law enforcement.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, emergency services, and team members, as well as preparing detailed reports and presentations.
• Bilingual (SPANISH): It is important to have the skills to communicate with everyone to ensure that there is always a clear understanding of any situation.
• Reliability – The ability to be dependable, follow protocols, and maintain consistent performance.
• Fast and Proactive – Quick decision-making and proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
• Punctuality – Arriving on time for shifts and assignments is essential in maintaining a secure environment.
• Teamwork – Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
