Job Summary
The First Shift Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel and property. This position involves working closely with law enforcement and security teams to maintain a secure environment, respond to incidents, and implement safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills and be trained in first aid and CPR, with a background in military or law enforcement preferred.
Duties
- Monitor premises through surveillance systems, including CCTV, to identify and address potential security threats.
- Respond promptly to incidents, providing first aid and CPR as necessary until emergency services arrive.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations and assist in loss prevention efforts.
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter criminal activity and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Implement conflict management strategies to de-escalate situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and prepare reports for management review.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in security and emergency response.
Skills
- Proficient in first aid and CPR techniques, with certification preferred.
- Experience in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable.
- Strong surveillance skills, including familiarity with CCTV systems.
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies and techniques.
- Excellent conflict management abilities, capable of handling high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to observe and report suspicious activities accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when required. This role is essential for maintaining a safe environment, making it crucial for candidates to possess the necessary skills and experience to excel as a First Officer.
