Part Time Security Officer

IPS Nationwide is looking to hire Unarmed Security Officers for our Retail Store in the SANTA MONICA area! Come join the IPS Family and let’s make this money! We are looking for coverage Friday – Sunday, PART TIME !!!

5 GUARDS for 2pm-11:30pm
1 GUARD for 2pm-10:30pm
1 GUARD for 2:30pm-11pm
1 GUARD for 10pm-6:30am

• YOU MUST HAVE A VALID BSIS STATE ISSUED CA GUARD CARD TO WORK!
• MUST PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK!!
• MUST HAVE A POWERS TO ARREST CERTIFICATE!
• PAY STARTS AT $18/HR!

UNIFORM GUARD EXPECTATIONS – 2025

· Purpose of our Guards – Visible Deterrent (Dressed Professional in Uniform)

· Engaged / Professional Personality – likes working with People / Customers

· Providing TERRIFIC Customer Service

· Professionally dressed, maintain good hygiene, and groomed.

· ACTIVE in our Stores and VISIBLE. Spending most of their time at the front end of our Stores – Entrances / Exits

· Shows up on time/checks in with Management – ready to go.

What we want you to do:

· Greet ALL Customers – “Welcome to/Thank you for Shopping at …"

o Be Alert, Observe, and Report suspicious activity, – be engaged/offering assistance (again – strong visibility)

o Communicate Clear.

o Walk Employees out to their car – if requested

o Abide by all our Policies – i.e. – receipts/breaks, use of cell phones, Shoplift Policy, no weapons, etc. (please discuss with them)

o De-escalate situations / treat everyone with Courtesy, Dignity and Respect

What we DO NOT want you to do:

· Make Shoplifting Stops (never) – Never ask for a receipt.

o Never go out of the Store – to chase/confront a Shoplifter.

· Never accuse/confront anyone about Shoplifting. (profile or follow)

· Never using cell phones and earbuds as a distraction from their Post Orders.

· Never suggest our customers finish their shopping at closing hours.

· No weapons of any type (guns, knives, mace, tasers, etc.)

· Be late or abandon the post.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Possess a valid BSIS guard card.
• Reliable transportation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
• Good moral character.
