Job Description:
As an Armed Security Officer at Opulence Violence Prevention, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises and individuals you are assigned to protect. Your role will involve monitoring for potential threats, maintaining a visible presence to deter crime, and responding quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety of clients, employees, and visitors
- Monitor and control access to buildings, properties, and restricted areas
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and security incidents
- Deter criminal behavior through proactive observation and enforcement of site policies
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts or potentially violent situations
- Provide crowd control and maintain order during public or private events
- Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services when required
- Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security breaches to supervisors
- Accurately document daily activities, incident reports, and other relevant details
Requirements:
- Valid state-issued security guard license
- Firearm certification and authorization to carry in Illionis
- Proven experience as an armed security officer or in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security protocols
- Strong observational and de-escalation skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to stay calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Clean criminal background and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in violence prevention or crisis management is a plus
- Prior law enforcement or military background is advantageous
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
