Job Title: 2nd Shift Retail Security Officer
Shift: Sunday Wednesday, and Thursday 6 PM- 12 AM and Friday and Saturday 5 PM – 12 AM
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and vigilant Retail Security Officer to assist with providing security services for a retail store, assist with preventing theft, and assist with the safety of customers and staff. The ideal candidate will provide a visible security presence, monitor for potential shoplifting or other disturbances, and safely respond to incidents. This role requires strong observational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol the interior store premises and provide a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and misconduct.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and conduct regular security sweeps of the store.
- Observe and identify suspicious activities or individuals; take appropriate action to prevent theft or damage.
- Assist store employees and management in dealing with unruly customers, shoplifters, or safety concerns.
- Respond safelyto emergencies, such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches.
- Provide customer service by offering assistance and directions when necessary.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or irregularities to store management and prepare detailed reports.
- Work closely with law enforcement or emergency services when required.
- Followstore policies and maintain order when possible during high-traffic times, such as sales events or holidays.
Requirements:
- Valid PERC card (Permanent Employee Registration Card) or equivalent certification.
- Completion of basic security training (20 hours preferred).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass a drug screening and background check.
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Previous retail or security experience is preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and remain alert.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience and location.
