Security Officer

Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities, preventing unauthorized access, and responding promptly to incidents. This role is essential in maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance, conflict management, and adherence to safety protocols. The Security Officer will play a critical role in loss prevention and safeguarding assets using CCTV systems and surveillance techniques. Responsibilities

• Monitor security cameras and surveillance systems (CCTV) to detect suspicious activities or security breaches
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security compliance
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies
• Enforce access control policies by verifying credentials of visitors and employees
• Manage conflict situations with professionalism and conflict management skills to de-escalate potential threats
• Document incidents accurately through detailed reports for future reference
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism activities
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary during investigations or emergencies
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful activities and promote a safe environment

Experience

• Certification in first aid and CPR is advantageous but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed
• Knowledge of surveillance systems (CCTV) operation and monitoring techniques
• Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively
• Familiarity with loss prevention strategies and security protocols
• Experience working with security equipment such as radios, alarm systems, and access control devices is a plus
• Ability to remain alert during long shifts and respond swiftly to emergencies or suspicious activity

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
