Duties and Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safety and security of all Guests, Team Members and contractors, and visitors while at the hotel. A Security Supervisor is also responsible for the safety and security of the hotel premises and the oversight of the Security Team.
REPORTING TO THE SECURITY MANAGER, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Security department.
Ensure overall guests and team members safety through the implementation and review of hotel-wide security measures.
Liaison with other hotel security and law enforcement agencies and carry out investigations pertaining to all security matters.
Ensure compliance of OSHA standards and take preventative measures.
Be knowledgeable in the use of all security equipment, i.e. radios, cameras, electronic lock systems and report any safety, security and/or fire hazards or violations.
Assist guests or employees during emergency situations, such as fire, evacuation, flood, severe weather, bomb threat, robbery, natural disasters, etc.
Handle business interruptions and complaints, such as suspicious individuals, civil disturbances or demonstrations, noise complaints, intoxicated individuals, etc.
Investigate accidents, thefts and all other safety concerns pertaining to guests and in coordination with human resources for team members.
Maintain and monitor lost and found process and procedures.
Responsible for all Security Audits along with meeting our hotel brand standards.
Supervise and train all Security Officers.
Complete daily Security reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years direct, related experience as a security officer in a hotel required.
Certification in CPR First Aid required.
Experience in planning, organizing, and enforcing security systems.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. in an emergency.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Communicate in the primary language of the hotel.
Able to work: Holidays, weekends and any day/shift.
