Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for securing and monitoring the building common areas; documenting all guests entering or exiting the facility; and responding to building emergencies, as required in the Emergency Plan by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., Title VII issues, ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA, Fair Credit Reporting Act and all other laws associated with the industry.
Remains familiar with and able to implement/enforce Courtesy Patrol Handbook, Building Emergency Plan, House Rules and various forms associated with the Security tasks.
Is courteous to all residents and guests and communicate in such a manner to diffuse conflict and difficult situations.
Reports all building and/or tenant related emergencies and security breaches to appropriate parties, i.e. Fire Department, Paramedics, Police, and Property Manager.
Documents and reports all tenant issues that occur during shift to the building management office.
Contacts the on-call person who can be paged for resident related and maintenance emergencies.
Documents all activity, rounds and emergency contacts on security log.
Performs building tours (rounds) according to schedule and document on security log.
Monitors entry and exit from the facility and require all guests to sign-in and sign-out, as well as show personal picture identification in accordance with Courtesy Patrol Handbook policy.
Ensures physical security of building by verifying all exterior and interior service doors are closed and locked.
Completes Security Log Report and Emergency Log and submit to management in accordance with Courtesy Patrol Handbook policy/procedure.
Reports all concerns, issues and questions that are beyond the scope of security to the management office.
Maintains a neat and professional appearance at all times while on duty.
Follows all rules, policies and procedures outlined in the Courtesy Patrol Handbook at all times.
Completes clerical and other office tasks, as assigned.

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
