This venue will be a stunning, 300-capacity seated concert venue inspired by landmark jazz clubs, will open in early 2025, offering an elevated music and dining experience in the heart of Chicago’s West Loop, the city’s premier dining district. This venue will prioritize exceptional musical curation, artful interior design, and state-of-the-art acoustics. The food and beverage program promises to be among the finest of any concert venue in the country. This venue will be a welcoming space for music lovers and artists of all kinds and an innovative experience in live concert venues.

Job Description

The Head of Security will maintain a continuous state of alertness and awareness to control and secure the facility, equipment, customers, visitors, and staff. The Head of Security will operate within legal constraints and contract agency stipulations in order to maintain the security of the facility and safety of all on-site personnel and guests.

Responsibilities

❖ Supervise the day-to-day security operations of the facility

❖ Manage teams of Security Officers, Site and Shift Supervisors including hiring/selection, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, development and support

❖ Schedule staff for adequate coverage

❖ Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both clients and employees

❖ Coordinate necessary support services to effectively manage client sites to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service

❖ Ensure all required reporting and contract compliance requirements are met

❖ Handle any escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately

❖ Create or implement security standards, policies, and procedures

❖ Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches

❖ Respond to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, following emergency response procedures

❖ Monitor and ensure a sound, ethical environment

❖ Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property

❖ Develop, implement, manage, or evaluate policies and methods to protect personnel and guests against harassment, threats, or violence

❖ Develop, conduct, support, or assist in governmental reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments of the overall effectiveness of facility and personnel security processes

❖ Train subordinate security professionals or other organization members in security rules and procedures

❖ Assess risks to mitigate potential consequences of incidents and develop a plan to respond to incidents

❖ Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols

Qualifications

❖ Minimum 3 years kitchen management experience

❖ Skilled in cooking, cost controls, management, crew training and development

❖ Working knowledge of kitchen procedures

❖ Knowledge of food and beverage costs, labor costs, and product costs

❖ Computer knowledge (Google, Zoom, Excel, word processing, etc.)

❖ Ability to run all kitchen operations

❖ Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

❖ Ability to stand or stay in a stationary position for long periods of time

❖ Ability to tolerate extreme heat

❖ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

❖ Must be certified through the City of Chicago, Food Handler’s License and Allergen License

❖ Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask

❖ Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills

❖ Ability to work in both a team-oriented management environment and independently

❖ Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis

❖ Ability to move throughout the venue during the entire shift

❖ Ability to walk between 3 – 5 miles per shift to ensure adequate patrol of assigned area

❖ Ability to lift and carry the equivalent of 1 incapacitated adult approximately 150-170 pounds to the nearest safe area in times of extreme emergencies

❖ Ability to use various security tools and keys

❖ Ability to verbally communicate for two way radio and telephone usage

❖ Ability to fill out detailed paperwork, doing security observation, and inspection

❖ Ability to work in an environment with loud music and crowds for extended periods of time

❖ Ability to stand or stay in a stationary position for long periods of time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
